This year 20 students travelled to Malaga, Spain to complete three weeks work placement in their chosen are of study. A further 16 students will travel to Vasteras, Sweden on the 12th of January to complete their placement. This excellent opportunity is fully funded by Leargas and is part of the Erasmus Plus Programme. Each year students come back greatly appreciating their educational experience. The time away gives them an opportunity to immerse themselves in a foreign workplace exposing themselves to different cultures and practices. A special thanks to Anita Cullen and Conor Dempsey the PLC Coordinators and to the PLC teachers that have assisted with the planning and preparation of both trips. Temperatures in Malaga are currently about 15 degrees however in Vasteras they are slightly below zero somewhat similar to what we are experiencing in Ireland.
Students in Vasteras Sweden enjoyed going to a Bandi match when they were there and Hotel Arkad where they were staying provided all students and teachers with a meal prior to them coming home. The travelling party returned back to Ireland on the 2nd of February after a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
