Learners from Enniscorthy Community College and Gorey Institute of Further Education met with their Swedish counterparts today at Hotel Arkad. Since their arrival on Sunday afternoon the learners have been settling into their work placements where they will remain until the 27th of January. Currently it is very cold in Vasteras at night with temperatures getting down to -19 degrees Celcius. The students have been accompanied by two teachers from the Childcare department this week Ms. Denise Quirke and Ms. Rachel Dwyer who have been assisting the learners to find their way around the city. Luckily Hotel Arkad is a cosy hotel and centrally located which makes things a bit easier. At the weekends the intention is that the learners will engage in some sightseeing and possibly visit Stockholm which is only an hour away on the train.
