Over the last number of weeks learners on the Fitness Health and Exercise course have been upskilling in a wide variety of areas all very relevant to the course and should assist them greatly if they want to enter the workforce or continue with their studies elsewhere.
For their Nutrition module the learners made some tasty treats in class. This involved reading food labels and coming up with recipes that are high in protein and carbohydrates, which are an important part of an athlete’s diet. From the pictures you can see that this was a real team effort with a number of high quality dishes produced.
Learners attended Lifestyle Fitness in Enniscorthy for three Circuit Training classes. They also completed their ITEC Spinning and Strength and Conditioning courses which will make them highly employable in any leisure facility.
Finally,Two Fitness Health and Exercise learners got the opportunity to go to Malaga on the Eramus Plus programme. They completed three weeks work experience in ‘Iron Gym’. They picked up new training ideas from different nationalities and got to share some of their own learnings from their course in Enniscorthy. Their accommodation included a gym and a kitchen which suited their healthy lifestyles. This trip was fully funded by Leargas and based on the feedback the learners really enjoyed the experience of working in another country.
