This is the final year that anyone that holds a ECCE level 5 qualification can transfer directly into the level 6 ECCE course
Course Overview
Our Advanced Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education course aims to develop our learners to the highest level of professional competence as practitioners. This is achieved through a wide knowledge and a deep understanding of educational practises in conjunction with the principles set down by Síolta: the National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education and Aistear: The Curriculum Framework for Early Learning. This qualification will allow you to work as a room leader or supervisor under the ECCE scheme. You will be qualified to work with children from 0-12 years within the broader ELC (Childcare) settings. This course is ideal for those currently working within an early years setting.
The ECCE level 6 course offers the next stage for a career in the Early Years at a supervisory or management level.

Duration
1 Year full time, Level 6.
Work placement for 2 days per week (minimum 150 hours) on Monday and Tuesday Once Garda Vetting forms have been received from each student.

Minimum Entry Requirements
All participants must have access to a professional early years/ childcare environment to fulfil the assessment requirement of the course, which is 150 hours work experience. Valid Garda Vetting from Waterford & Wexford ETB – Students from Early Childhood Care and Education level 5 courses studied in Waterford & Wexford ETB CAN CARRY THEIR Garda Vetting over to the Advanced Certificate in ECCE Level 6.
